From a purely buko pie orientation, the products of Lety’s has expanded to include utilization of buko mixed with other fruits,such as pineapple, ube, durian, lychee and buko flavored with fresh pandan leaves. This of course, is in addition to utilization of other tropical fruits, such as pineapple pie, banana cakes, ube-macapuno pies and carrot cakes. The specific descriptions of these products are as follows:

SPECIAL BUKO PIE - with fresh “malakanin” buko (used in the    preparation of buko salad.)

      PINEAPPLE PIE - with canned crushed pineapple chunks.

      BUKO PINEAPPLE PIE  – with fresh buko mixed with crushed pineapple.

      BUKO PANDAN PIE – with buko boiled in pandan leaves and left in the mixture to soaked overnight. 

      BUKO LYCHEE PIE – with fresh buko mixed with canned Lychee fruits. 

      BUKO DURIAN PIE – with fresh buko mixed with Durian fruit pulp.

      UBE PIE – with fresh UBE (violet yam) mixture (the ube yam boiled and then grounded to the consistency of ube halaya sweets.)

      UBE  MACAPUNO PIE – with UBE mixture topped with macapuno.

      BANANA BREAD – with crushed bananas. 

      CASSAVA CAKE - with grated fresh cassava mixed with eggs, milk, and cheese. 

      CARROT CAKE - with shredded fresh carrots sprinkled with walnuts.

DIFFERENT PIE SIZES

      The standard size of Buko and related pies offered in the market here at Los Banos and sorrounding places are the 9-inch (diameter) pies weighing around 850 grams. The pie can be cut into 6 or 8 slices, and will be good for the same number of persons. Hence, the average Filipino family (with 6 to 8 members) generally prefer this size.

     The case of potential consumers in other countries is different. Families in said countries are generally small. In majority of the cases, the family consists only of the husband and the wife.Thus, they would prefer smaller size pies.

     In this connection, both for the domestic and the export markets, four different pie-sizes were developed (for the ordinary buko pie and for the buko pie variants):

1.      Regular Size Pie – 850 grams.

2.      Medium Size Pie – 500 grams.

3.      Merienda Size Pie – 250 grams.

4.      Bite-Size Pie – 65 grams.

     The usual offerings at the local stores are the regular size pies (850 grams), both for the ordinary buko pies and the different buko variant pies. The three other sizes (medium, merienda, and bite sizes) are prepared only on a per order basis (at least one day before pick-up or delivery). The bite-size pies are popular among party organizers, since they can be served individually as desserts or as merienda items.

NOTE: No preservatives and/or artificial colorings are used in the preparation of the above pies/cakes.
